About Me
Although I was born in Chicago, I spent most of my life in the small town of Mt. Zion, IL. There, I was involved in choir and show choir from elementary school through high school while also taking private piano and voice lessons through Millikin University. I attended the University of Illinois, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with highest honors. During my time at the U of I, I was a member of the UI Chorale, a member and director of a female pop-a cappella group, and the vocal director for the Illini Union Board Musicals. I was also a two-year member of the "Decatur Park Singers" show choir and director of the high school "Decatur Young Park Singers." I student taught in the neighboring District 204, splitting my time between Waubonsie Valley High School and McCarty Elementary School in Aurora, lL. In addition to my position at Homestead, I am also the current director of Waubonsie Valley's all-female show choir, "Girls In Heels." I also enjoy baking, dancing, and musical theater, and I am developing my skills in guitar and ukulele. I'm excited to start my second year in Oswego District 308!
