Welcome!
I'm so glad your student has decided to join choir! We currently have over 80 students involved; wow! We are having a blast learning about vocal technique and singing music of all styles and genres.
Reminder: We begin choir at 7:45AM on Thursdays. Doors will be opened promptly at 7:45; please make every attempt to be on time! If a student is late more than 3 times, they run the risk of being removed from choir.
Field Trip: The OEHS festival will be held on Tuesday, May 20th at 7:00 PM (please have your student there by 6:45). We will rehearse during that same day by taking a field trip to OEHS from 1-4PM. Students will need to be picked up at Homestead at 4:20 PM and then brought back to the high school in the evening. A permission form will be handed out in April.

Teach Me the Blues
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Al1gY4vfuGk
All: Mama, teach me the blues
I said mama, please teach me the blues
Hey mama, what do you have to lose?
She said, "Okay son, you start on one,
And listen for the harmony.
When it goes to four you go explore
How cool the blues can be.
Then land on five, keep your ears alive,
It's the perfect recipe!"
Part 2: Grab that scale and start to wail
And very soon you'll see
Part 1: The best notes you can sing will be
Flat seven, five, and three
All: "But don't ignore this one thing more
When you're makin' melodies."
Part 1: It's called riffin'... (Part 2: doo doo doo doo doo)
It's called riffin'... (Part 2: doo doo doo doo doo)
It's called riffin'... (Part 2: doo doo doo doo doo)
It's called riffin'... (Part 2: bop doo dot, bop doo dot)

Tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free
Tis a gift to come down where we ought to be
And when we find ourselves in the place just right
Twill be in the valley of love and delight
When true simplicity is gained
To bow and to bend we shan't be ashamed
To turn, turn, will be a delight
Till by turning, turning we come 'round right
Going home, going home
I am going home (Part 2 echoes)
Going home, going home
Never more to roam
Though the road's been so long
Now I'm going home
To the place I belong
I am going home
Going home, going home
I am going home (Part 2 echoes)
Going home, going home,
I am going home
Part 1: Going home...
Part 2: 'Tis a gift...
Part 2: 'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.

When Can I See You Again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWGri4bqOQc
Part 1: When can we do this again?
Part 2: When can I see you again?
Part 1: When can we do this again?
Part 2: When can I see you again?
All: When can we do this again? When can I see you again?
Switch on the sky, and the stars glow for you
Go see the world, 'cause it's all so brand new.
Don't close your eyes
Part 1: Cause the future's ready to shine
Part 2: It's just a matter of time
All: Before we learn how to fly
Welcome to the rhythm of the night
There's something in the air you can't deny
It's been fun but now I've got to go
Life is way too short to take it slow
But before we go and hit the road, oh
I gotta know till then,
When can we do this again? Oh, oh oh,
When can I see you again? Oh, oh oh,
When can we do this again? Oh, oh oh,
I gotta know (part 2 echo), when can I see you again?
Joined at the hip, yeah your sidekick needs you
Life is a trip, and the road map leads you
Look all around
Part 1: At the mountains you haven't climbed
Part 2: It's just a matter of time
All: Before we learn how to fly
Welcome to the rhythm of the night
There's something in the air you can't deny
It's been fun but now I've got to go
Life is way too short to take it slow
But before we go and hit the road, oh
I gotta know till then,
When can we do this again? Oh, oh oh,
When can I see you again? Oh, oh oh,
When can we do this again? Oh, oh oh,
I gotta know (part 2 echo),
When can I see you again? Oh, oh oh
When can we do this again? Oh, oh oh
When can I see you again? Oh, oh oh,
When can we do this again? Oh, oh oh,
Yeah, it's been fun but now I've got to go
Life is way too short to take it slow.
Buh-but before we go and hit the road, oh
Tell me when?
When can I see you again?
When can I see you again? (Part 2: when...)
When can I see you again, again, again?
